Board Meeting Summary – May

Held online using Zoom on Wednesday May 13, 2020

There were no apologies.

Kyle Sproat attended the meeting with a view to being co-opted on to the Board.

Billy our Holdings Board rep had been in communication with CUFC Chief Exec Nigel Clibbens about the continuing impact of Coronavirus and likely next steps by the EFL. A decision was expected imminently and all the League 1 and League 2 clubs were meeting virtually this Friday to discuss a solution. The cost of playing behind closed doors was too high for CUFC to contemplate. The indications were that a decision to end the season would be taken on Friday and the final table calculated on points-per-game.

The retained list of playing staff would be released soon. Players and football management had been in talks with the club over paying of contracts through the crisis, and agreement had been reached.

The board again discussed potential arrangements for July’s AGM. It was accepted a normal meeting was out of the question and a decision was taken to hold the AGM online, assuming financial information could be finalised by the deadline.

The ‘Be Just and Quiz On’ online pub quizzes were to continue, with the board’s blessing. Jack had moved them to Youtube from Facebook. The numbers viewing had reduced but there was a loyal hardcore taking part regularly.

Membership now stood at 455. Numbers had stagnated during lockdown. Membership year end was still over two months away. Ways to maintain/increase membership were discussed.

The last item of business was the formal co-option of Kyle on to the board until the date of this year’s AGM. Kyle was voted unanimously on to the Board.

Next month’s meeting – to be arranged.
